Cute, but needs work. Very cold.

The look of stay, location.

Holes in floor, walls etc. wiring- couldnt use any power points with TV on. Wiring problem. Front stairs rusted out, broken off. Back stairs unuseable but only way to key lock box. Cigarette butts around cottage.

Not bad of a place, but it was a shame of the outcome when I was checking out.

It was a cute old cottage, could do with a bit of work and fixing the floor boards due to the cold coming in from the cracks of the floorboards and cleaning up the yard make it look more tidy and presentable. There’s a massive yard going to waste, why not put a trampoline or swing set for the kids for when families come to visit. The random outdoor toilet? Was disgusting, hasn’t been cleaned.

I was happy with the 3 day stay all up until check out. The cleaner and owner of the property arrived 30mins before check out time and welcomed themselves in the yard as I was packing the car getting ready to leave at 10am, was rudely spoken to and they both left the front gate open after being told respectfully to close the gate because my $3,000 dachshund was outside and he isn’t road sensible, continued to open the driveway gates and were invasive of privacy and kept repeating “ where are the keys “ “ can I have the keys “ “ can I go inside “ “I’m here for an inspection at 10am “ it wasn’t even 10am and they were rushing me out sooner than the check out time. I had already locked up and put the keys in the lock box as I was just grabbing the last of my things in the house and doing a quick check over when I seen this lady inside the yard. I’ve never had this experience with all my previous bookings I’ve had on booking.com and this was a horrible leaving experience considering I paid almost $900 for 3 nights and this is what I receive when it wasn’t even time to check out yet. I would have understood if I was late for my check out time, but they arrived early. If they told me my check out time was 10am I respect for them to come after my check out time and not arrive 30mins early. If you have animals especially dogs, I wouldn’t recommend as they will more than likely just open gates and release them. I will not be booking again to stay at the syntax cottage and definitely not worth almost $900 for 3 nights.
