Mistake
The host messaged via booking.com to say that they will only communicate via WhatsApp, which is not booking.com policy.
The pinned location on the booking.com map is incorrect (Chen One Road) whereas the house is actually next to Ghosia Park (Sanglaan Wali Ground).
They did not pickup my several phone calls on arrival, so I was left with my luggage waiting on main street.
Finally booking.com staff got through to them and the host drove over to meet me and direct me to the house.
The property is advertised on booking.com as having Air Conditioning (AC) facilities.
However, a message was sent from the host to say that to use AC is a separate cost of 7,500 PKR for 12 hours only.
So 1 day would cost 15,000 PKR which is much higher than the what the property was advertised as (2,500 PKR per night, May 2026).
The host took all the cash for my stay of 3 nights including tax (~9,000 PKR) upon arrival.
The bathroom ceiling had a lot of black mould (fungus), and door handle/lock was very rusted.
The bathroom is shared with another room where a long term tenant is staying, which was not advertised on website.
After the host left I received an email from booking.com that my stay had been cancelled by the host for unclear reasons.
Due to the deteriorated condition of the property and the cancellation by the host on booking.com, I did not stay overnight rather I booked another hotel nearby as advised by booking.com.
I informed the host the following morning that I am not staying at the property and returned the key to the property.
I did not get my cash back from her.
I hope booking.com will reimburse me as they advised in their email they would do so, as the host cancelled the property.
