eL Hotel & Resort Bali Sanur

The location of the hotel was fantastic. The staff were helpful and friendly enough although with limited English.

The small pool at the front of the hotel was freezing cold, and there were only four sun loungers in the area, which was simply not enough.We booked a Deluxe Pool Room, but the rooms were very compact. There was also an adjoining door between our room and the room next door, which meant we could hear everything happening in the neighbouring room. This was far from ideal and affected our privacy.The bed was extremely hard and firm. I understand that some people prefer this, but it certainly wasn't to my liking.Despite the bathroom supposedly being newly renovated, it was not in great condition. There was visible dirt around the base of the toilet where it met the floor, and the shower cubicle was very small for a Deluxe Room. It also didn't appear to have been renovated to the standard we would have expected. The noise from the cleaning staff was another major issue. We were woken at around 5:30 am every morning by the cleaners starting their rounds with their incredibly noisy plastic cleaning trolleys.On one occasion, we were in the room while it was being cleaned. When we asked for clean cups, we were horrified to see the staff member take them into the bathroom, rinse them under the tap water and then put them straight back on the desk! After that experience, we went out and bought our own kettle, cups and dishwashing liquid so we could wash everything ourselves for the remainder of our stay.It was also almost impossible to get a sun lounger by the pool outside our room. Guests would place towels on the loungers and then disappear for long periods, leaving them unavailable for others to use.The breakfast was disappointing as well. Despite paying extra for breakfast for our two-week stay, we only ate there twice, as we simply didn't feel it was worth it.Finally, the beer at the hotel bar was ridiculously expensive, with prices comparable to those in Australia. We found it much cheaper to buy beer from the stalls along the beachfront.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Cleanliness was great. Excellent location. For a special price booking pre opening which was great. The room was lovely, but I thought it would have been even better with some Balinese art on the wall.

Needed more sunbeds around the beach pool (there are only 4!) Didn't like that there was only a ladder into the pool- not suitable for elderly, disabled, mobility impaired, people with joint issues etc.. Didn't like that 4 rooms shared an outdoor sitting area and that smokers sat out there. For a non smoker, you had to hold your breath to get to your room.

Breakfast was varied and very fresh. The outlook was a fantastic way to start the day. We have not visited Sanur for many years. Our experience exceeded our expectations. The Resort's location was great. A big thankyou to Agus Winde Tania and his team!

There was nothing we did not like.

The beach are and breakfast area are nice. Staff lovely .

Bad layout feels like 2 separate hotels . If you book a pool room you are stuck at the back off the property overlooking the back pool and it is a long walk to the front / beach area
