Very disappointing experience: cleanliness and conditions below expectations

My experience – a factual account for future guests
I am sharing my personal experience as accurately and factually as possible, without making assumptions about the host’s intentions.
I booked this apartment for 5 nights, with a 3:00 pm check-in. At 12:00 pm, I was allowed to briefly enter only to leave my luggage, then I left. I returned at around 3:30 pm and found cleaning staff still working in the apartment.
From a professional hospitality perspective, I do not consider it acceptable for a guest to arrive at check-in time while the accommodation is still being cleaned. I also found faeces on the balcony and the apartment felt very damp.
The noise and lack of soundproofing were also a major issue. I could hear the neighbours’ conversations word for word, as well as eating and cutlery noises. I did not believe I could sleep properly there.
I therefore left on the day of arrival without spending a single night.
I contacted the host, but we could not reach an agreement, so I referred the matter to Booking.com, which resolved the situation.
This review reflects my personal experience and observations on arrival. The accommodation may look attractive in the listing, but in my experience, the reality did not match the impression given.
My personal lesson: I will never again book accommodation with only three reviews, regardless of how attractive the listing looks.
