The bed was comfortable and they were willing to store my bags for the day for free, which was nice. The staff was about as helpful as a rock. It’s a cheap bed for a night so I won’t complain but it wasn’t great.
Their instructions for finding the place are so unhelpful to prepare you for finding it, especially if you’re not used to traveling in China. The hostel is the 4th floor of a mall. I flew in a bit late and arrived in Qingdao at 9 pm. The mall was closed so I had no clue how to get in whatsoever and there were no lights on. I walked around with my bags until I found a security guard and struggled to ask him how to get there. He walked me around the building, to a cargo loading door, through the back halls of the mall, to a gated off elevator that brought me to reception. To me it’s absolutely ludicrous to expect guests to find it on their own - especially when they’re tired from flying to China!

I had a great stay at Desti Hostel Qingdao! The location is excellent, close to Qingdao city centre and just steps away from Exit C of Metro Line 3, making it very convenient to get around the city. The facilities are well-equipped, and having both a washing machine and a dryer available was a big plus, especially for travelers on longer trips. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Overall, a comfortable stay with great convenience and everything you need. Highly recommended!
