We ended up in Tusayan because all the hotels on the Grand Canyon rim were closed due to flooding and water shortages. Red Feather was the next best thing, and we appreciated that it is a local, family run hotel rather than one of the big chains. We also appreciated that it is just outside the park entrance, and the road wasn't windy or scary to drive in the dark. The staff at the desk were super helpful, the room in the hotel section was lovely, and there is free coffee and tea 24/7 which was great for us when we left at 5:45 a.m. to catch the sunrise. Really clean, appreciated the fridge in the room, and walking distance to a few different places to eat. Parking was a little tight by the time we got there, but we found a space. We also liked the fireplace in the lobby, which was great for our cold night in October.
Would have loved to have stayed on the Rim, but this was the next best thing.

The facility was nicer/better than expected, considering it wasn't a national brand, I wasn't sure what to expect. It was very clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
A breakfast option would have been nice, but not necessary for the value.

Location, parking outside the door and restaurant in walking distance; very close.
Ambiance in motel section was ordinary motel.
