Nice property and lovely owners but rude caretaker and badly supplied/upkept
Large property with a nice garden and lawn, lots of car space. Nice deck around the house, large kitchen.
Honestly we weren’t even going to mention some of this and just contact the owner to let them know, but I’ve decided to write this review here because the property manager was very rude. On arrival we waited almost 20 minutes for her to come and let us in, even though we warned her each step of our journey how close we were. She made sure we knew the leaving time was 10am, which we planned for. Then at 6:50 morning of she messaged quite rudely ‘when are you leaving’ and then called, waking my mom up. She seemed rather keen for us to leave asap, so we packed up and cleaned quickly. Then we called to say we could go at 8:30, and she sounded annoyed that now she had to come earlier, that she ‘guesses she has no choice but to make a plan then’ and basically inferred that she wanted us to wait around while she ‘checked’ the house, and that this was normal. I have stayed all over the world it is certainly not normal to ‘check’ the house while your guests are waiting with their bags packed to be allowed to go. It’s inferring that your guests are thieves or have messed up the house in some way?? In the end we left the keys in the door for her.
Otherwise, it is a lovely property and the owners themselves seem like lovely people, but I certainly expected a lot more for almost four grand a night. Everything is the cheapest possible version of itself; bendy knives, fans are loud and wobbling around the ceiling, pillows are hard and bed sheets are polyester which is unbearably hot in summer when you can’t sleep because the fan is so loud and mosquitoes are attacking you. The microwave doesn’t work at all, toilet seat is loose, there is absolutely zero water pressure the showers just leak water and take ten minutes to turn hot, we received a single roll of toilet paper per bathroom (and couldn’t find more?), the Internet is either very slow or nonexistent, and there were no cleaning materials at all.
