Huge disappointed for what it cost. Untrustworthy staff. Stay away.

Nice pool. Nice location. That’s about it. It's easy to get to various places nearby. It's a beautiful part of the south coast without it being too touristy.

This was by far the most expensive stay during our trip on Sri Lanka and truly the only disappointing stay as well. Before we arrived I send a message to the manager. We received no reply. Usually you’ll get instructions for arrival, what to expect in terms of breakfast etc. None of that was provided. When we arrived with our two small children, we weren’t greeted at all. We received no instructions whatsoever regarding things like breakfast which was supposed to be included. We then got a different telephone number than the number that was provided on booking.com. Which is strange. We were then immediately asked to pay everything in cash right then and there. During our trip this was the first time this was requested so I was a bit reluctant. Then we got a WhatsApp message with an excuse about “financial emergencies” and if we could pay everything asap. To me this was the second red flag. I told her that we would pay half up front and half afterwards. This proposal was then met with resistance and even mockery, but in the end she accepted. The villa itself is nice. The pool is great. However, the hammock is broken, ants literally in the thousands everywhere. Kitchen, including fridge was dirty (and located outside). Trash in the garden. There’s 3 bedrooms and only 1 bathroom that is only accessible through the master bedroom. The doors closed automatically but the mechanical system was half broken and the doors were mega heavy and noisy to open and close. Which is pretty dangerous with two little kids. The owners of the premise live right across the street and the premise is quite open so no real feeling of privacy , certainly because of the somewhat bad vibes we got from the start. About a week after we got home, the owner suddenly flagged our stay as a no-show. So now I have to spend time to prove we were there. I was willing to make a 6 star review, but this action by the owner is so rude that I lowered it to a 2 star review. All in all: look further.
