Extremely Dissapointing

We booked Cabannas Unit C9 through Booking.com, managed by Ballito Accommodation, expecting a relaxing family weekend in Ballito. Unfortunately, the experience turned into one of the most frustrating stays we’ve had. When we arrived on Friday evening, the unit was completely uninhabitable. Although we were told there would be scaffolding outside, we were not informed that active renovations were taking place. There was construction debris outside the entrance, scaffolding with danger tape, and clear evidence of ongoing work. Inside the unit, conditions were worse: * The unit was extremely stuffy and clearly closed up for a long time. * Sliding and kitchen doors were rusted, extremely difficult to open, and would not lock properly, creating a serious safety concern given the unit opens directly onto the promenade. * The roof showed signs of recent repair work. * The upstairs balcony was flooded with an unexplained blue liquid. * Most shockingly, the beds were not made and the mattresses were bare and stained. To their credit, a Ballito Accommodation staff member came quickly and confirmed the unit was not suitable or safe to stay in, so we had to move our entire family to another property in the middle of a severe storm. Unfortunately the problems continued. We were moved multiple during the weekend, losing our first evening entirely and spending hours relocating between units rather than enjoying our holiday. While the replacement units themselves were decent, the way the situation was handled by management was extremely disappointing, including being told we may need to pay a price difference for accommodation we were forced to move into because the original unit was uninhabitable. Overall, the weekend felt more like managing a crisis than enjoying a holiday. Cabannas Unit C9 should never have been rented out while under renovation. Ballito Accommodation’s handling of the situation was poor and unnecessarily stressful.

Nice place to come back for a family beach holiday!

First line. Ocean view with the direct access to promenade. Master bedroom with a bathroom and 2 separate bedrooms with the dedicated bathroom on a second floor. Safe parking for 2 vehicles.

We liked it a lot, but I will recommend to the host a few things to improve : 1. Please organise something like an outside shower to clean the feet after the beach. Otherwise, all sand goes inside. 2. Pillows could be better. The mattresses are good. Guests should be ready that the apartment is not brand new, but it is due to high salt and moisture.
