Needs a deep, deep clean.
Location is great. Don’t rely on the post code, that takes you to a nearby farm, that are clearly sick of the same questions.
It’s dirty. It’s clearly been someone’s pride and joy at some point, but apparently Syke’s cottages are running it and it needs a bloody good clean and some serious TLC.
Bathroom hot tap is loose, shower door fell off its hinges and hit hubby on the foot- naked and cold, he reattached it. The plug cover then slide off and for £140 per night we were given ONE toilet roll for three people/three nights.
Every.single.item of cooking and eating equipment needed a clean before we used it. There wasn’t a wheelie bin to empty rubbish into do. No disinfected to wipe work tops. Actually, not that we needed them, but the toaster and the microwave were brand new.
I understand dogs are permitted downstairs in this property but the smell was almost overwhelming. We have both doors open to try and flush it out.
Fag ends in the front garden - lovely.
Spiders and dust everywhere. It’s just not been cleaned for probably weeks. And under the sofa, months (yes toddler drove a car under there) 🤢
TV didn’t work for most of the stay- wanted it in the evenings, we have a tiny human so being out late isn’t for us at the moment.
Bedding was new and clean. I wouldn’t have stayed otherwise. Major stains in decor, nuts bolts and screws left in every dish, cupboard, drawer etc.
Seriously over priced. No one answering over the bank holiday. I’ve tried contacting booking.com customer services - no reply and Sykes are telling me my booking reference isn’t recognised 🙄 even thought I’ve send them the email they sent to me. I didn’t want to do this review publicly yet. But already they are ignoring issues.
