Rosalie, a former farmhouse in the heart of the Ségala region of Tarn, set against a backdrop of unspoiled countryside, has been beautifully restored to welcome you in complete tranquility. Known as the “land of 100 valleys,” the Ségala region stretches between the Aveyron Valley to the north and the Viaur Valley to the south. Where streams and rivers converge, these unspoiled valleys provide the ideal setting for beautiful walks (forests, riverbanks, the viaduct, the Chapelle des Planques, and various historical ruins). In terms of cultural heritage, the Ségala region was home to the famous Toulouse-Lautrec at the Château du Bosc in Camjac. Other notable sites within a 20- to 40-minute drive include the Episcopal City of Albi, an UNESCO World Heritage Site; Cordes-sur-Ciel (France’s favorite village); Monestiès (one of the most beautiful villages); Sauveterre-de-Rouergue, and the thousand-year-old vineyards of Gaillac. Nearby are Lake Roucarié and the Viaur River for swimming, or Cap Découverte for a variety of recreational activities. ** THE COTTAGE ** A detached cottage in a small rural hamlet of about thirty residents, between Albi and Rodez, on the border of the Tarn and Aveyron departments. It is a fully renovated former farmhouse. Access is via an exterior stone staircase. - The living room (sofas, wood-burning stove, TV, stereo) leads to all the other rooms, - A large, fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, filter coffee maker and Senseo, kettle, toaster, gas stove, electric oven, blender, raclette set...). The kitchen opens onto a pleasant covered terrace furnished with outdoor seating and a plancha grill, offering views of the surrounding nature. - On the other side of the living room: the first bedroom (160-cm bed) with a shower room and toilet, - Wooden stairs lead upstairs, opening to the right onto a loft bedroom with 1 pull-out bed that sleeps 2 single guests (a folding screen is available). On the left, a beautiful attic bedroom (140-cm bed) has a private bathroom with a toilet. From the covered patio, a staircase leads down to the garden, where the barbecue is located. You can walk to the bocce court at the entrance to the hamlet. Private parking. If you need to store bicycles, the owner provides access to a storage shed.
