The Cheeky Squirrel is such an adorable, lovely, warm, cosy, homely place to stay, and the back garden is beautiful, tranquil and very spacious too. The whole place is full of charm and unique character. It's also within about a 10 minute walking distance from all of the main attractions in New Brighton. We even got to hand-feed a cheeky squirrel who often visited the back garden! 10/10!
Not much could have been better, but a pair of kitchen scissors would have been handy. Also, the code for the WIFI was unclear in terms of upper and lower case letters, so we had to ring Host and Stay for clarification.
But other than that everything was pretty much perfect 😊

Una casa muy bonita, con muchos detalles y un jardín estupendo. La casa estaba perfectamente limpia y con todo tipo de comodidades. Estábamos informados en todo momento por lo que llegamos sin problema. Además te envían una aplicación con toda la información sobre la casa, los alrededores y sugerencias para comer y moverte por la zona. Está en la zona de New Brighton, una zona tranquila donde pudimos relajarnos y pasear por la playa. Bien ubicada, con tren que lleva a directamente a Liverpool en poco tiempo.
La casa se llama la ardilla traviesa porque por las mañana hay ardillas en el jardín. Son encantadoras y los propietarios te dejan un cuenco con cacahuetes para que les des de comer. Si vais con niños, les gustará.
Nosotros hemos pasado unos días maravillosos.
Gracias por hacernos sentir como en casa!

1: Nice welcoming touch with a bottle of Prosecco, nibblies and welcome message left for us. 2: Owner was very nice and as helpful as she could be. 3: Location was very good.
Where do we start!! 1: Arrived at dusk with instructions to get keys from lock box. Looked everywhere -no lock box. My son found the keys in a plant pot as it was getting dark. Apparently, the owner had advised the agent but they failed to advise us. What's more, as we had extended our stay in advance and having advised them of the missing lock box, Host & Stay still sent me a text and email saying the keys were in a lock box! 2: Booking was accepted on the basis of 2 bedrooms - 1 with a double bed and 1 with 2 singles. Main bedroom was a mezzanine not a room and the 2nd room had a single bed that would extend to a double! When we complained to Host & Stay they simply said 'this property doesn't have what we booked. Why take the booking then! My youngest son had to sleep in the living room on a pull-out. 3: The house is filled with movement detector lights so every time my son moved in his bed the stair lights went on. We had to take them off the wall so he could sleep. 4: Washing machine worked great but nowhere to dry the clothes. Had to put the washing line up myself by wrapping it round a tree and the clothes maiden we asked for collapsed on first use. 5: Downstairs toilet blocked up and had to get owner out to unblock it. 6: Water from upstairs bathroom dripping through ceiling in kitchen. Had to contact owner to try and fix it. 7: Council bins in garden provided but no way to get them to the front of the house for collection. Only way was through the house which we were not going to do. 8: TV very confusing with no instructions provided. Continual message about 'have you paid your license' popping up and for the last 2 evenings, no live channels. In conclusion, very disappointed and you do NOT expect to travel 12,000 miles to deal with such issues.
