Great location, disappointing customer service from property managers.
The location was excellent. The home is comfortable.
The owner had staff come in to the house from 7am on the day we left to clean and prepare lunch for the guests arriving after us, despite us paying for the entire property until 11am. We could not use the kitchen area during this time and the staff woke us up. When I contacted the owner several times via WhatsApp to complain and ask that the staff leave immediately, they did not respond until I made contact again after I checked out. They then tried to tell me it is regular practice.
Also, when we arrived to check in we were greeted by the cleaner who did not know we were coming. I was then contacted via WhatsApp by someone claiming to be from the property who asked me to provide my passport info so they could send me a link to make payment. I questioned this but they insisted and said they would cancel my booking if I didn’t provide it. I had to call Booking.com in the UK to confirm their identity. I was on the phone for over 20 minutes (which was expensive), only to be told they called the owner 3 times but they didn’t answer their phone. I eventually provided the information, received the link, but their payment system would not accept my Australian credit card. I then had to go and get cash to make immediate payment as they told me the booking would be cancelled if I didn’t do this.
This was a real shame because the house was great. This so-called customer service ruined what would have been a great stay.
