Great location and potential, but serious cleanliness issues

The apartment is located in a very nice area, within the Island Club apartment complex, and has great potential for a comfortable stay. The complex has its own security, which makes it feel safe. Communication with the owner was also good. There is a shopping centre nearby, and the balcony offers lovely views of the canal.

The cleaning definitely needs improvement. When I arrived, the bathroom had not been cleaned at all. Even the toilet had not been flushed, and the towels provided were dirty and wet, which made me wonder whether they had been changed after the previous guests. Luckily, I had brought my own towels with me. The kettle for making tea or coffee was burnt and did not look safe to use. I would strongly recommend that the owner review the cleaning arrangements and make sure the apartment is properly checked before future guests arrive.

Majorca A apartment stay

Bed was comfortable, location was ideally close to Canal Walk shopping mall, and larger parts of Cape Town , which was the main reason for choosing this property to stay in. The complex itself felt secure and safe. Underground parking was provided, security cameras were in most areas. Comfy sofa and sufficient pillows in living areas.

Lots of tiny mosquitoes on the walls, floor and ceiling when I arrived ( perhaps due to close proximity of the canal), shower door knobs came off at first touch as they weren't screwed in tightly or ill-fitting, hand soap dispenser in bathroom was empty, floor wasn't cleaned under the sofa in living room (takeout receipt from previous month and some food remains found when I swept under the couch). Insect spray can wasn't usable for all the mosquitoes. Old instant coffee leftover in jar wasn't removed for new guest. Front door handle could be tightened for better security. Dining table wobbly leg not fixed or secure. Cooking pan needs to be updated, was also mentioned in a previous review by a different guest.
