The place was immaculately clean and is in an excellent location in Shinjuku. There is a separate shower and toilet, a bar-fridge, a microwave, a narrow sofa-bed, a sink, air conditioning, and bedding, towels, and basics like cups and plates are provided. The one time I had a small problem, the owners arranged for it to be fixed within a couple of hours.
Terrific value, but there are a few things to be aware of. This, like many places in Tokyo, is *very* small. It is an excellent place for one person looking to explore the city or do something where you mainly need a space of your own. Google Translate is your friend! Everything is in Japanese and it took me a couple of days to work out how to turn on the hot water for the shower :-) Having the laundrette just across the lane is also a great asset.
The keys are obtained through a lock-box in the mail-box. The mail box is hidden around the side of the building and to get into it you have to work out a confusing combination lock (or maybe it was just me). Luckily for me, there was someone local who helped me out with that part!

L’emplacement est génial, très bien situé, chambre calme même en plein quartier achalandé. Aucun personnel à l’accueil mais excellente communication.
Logis très propre et bien pensé pour un si petit espace. Il faut avoir le sens de l’organisation, tout se rétracte afin de transformer l’espace selon nos besoins. Prix très avantageux pour ce genre de quartier.
Le lit était assez dur, il a fallu s’ajuster. La climatisation avait une fuite, dû à la condensation, cela coulait au sol pendant la nuit.

Günstig, tolle Lage
Wir waren nach der 3. Nacht kurz davor auszuchecken und in ein Hotel zu gehen. Das hatte ich bisher noch nicht. Ich würde uns als sehr anpassungsfähig beschreiben und ohne hohe Ansprüche. Wir hätten uns mit dem extrem engen Raum arrangiert, aber die Geräuschkulisse und das harte Bett waren fast unzumutbar. Alle paar Minuten ist ein Aggregat angesprungen welches ein unangenehmes tiefes vibrieren erzeugt hat. Es war nicht der Kühlschrank, diesen habe ich nach der zweiten Nacht ausgeschaltet. Des weiteren ist die Treppe in den 2. Stock direkt obendrüber sodass man das Gefühl hat die Personen laufen im Raum. Personenverkehr war auch oft bis 2Uhr nachts.
In der Kombination mit der dünnen Matratze hat uns diese Unterkunft mehr als eine schlaflose Nacht beschert.
Trotz aller Kritik ist uns bewusst, dass in Tokio der Platz sehr begrenzt ist und auch ein eigenes Bad, Klimaanlage und natürlich die gute Lage angerechnet werden muss. Ich könnte mir aber vorstellen dass ein Kapselhotel bequemer ist.
Mich wundern ehrlich gesagt die durchgehend positiven Bewertungen nach denen ich diese Unterkunft ausgewählt habe.
Ich werde das nächste Mal tiefer in die Tasche greifen.
