I loved the Art Deco decor - my favourite architectural style. W appreciated the very spacious accommodation and the really comfortable king-size bed. Breakfast was good - plenty of choice and, if I remember correctly, some very tasty bread rolls! The location was perfect - right in the Mall with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. It was also very close to the starting point for the hop-on/hop-off bus - we bought a two-day ticket and enjoyed visiting several locations on the route as well as getting an overview of Johannesburg.
Everything was fine, but I did get up in the dark to go to the bathroom and totally lost my bearings - found myself in the sitting room area instead of the bathroom and not being within reach of a light switch, as far as I could tell, I had to wake my husband up to come and find me. I don't usually switch a light on when going to the bathroom in the night but here it was essential to do so! My fault entirely, but be warned!
