If it was half the price it might have been OK, but only just
If you don't mind a tired and slightly shabby chalet, the views of the mountains from the living room were spectacular
The Booking.com description doesn't match what is on offer, a reflection of the generally chaotic chalet listing/management. Linen and towels were supposed to be included, but actually not provided without prior request and an extra payment of €345. (I mean who goes on a skiing holiday and takes their own bedding and towels?). If we hadn't double-checked (see earlier negative review from another client in January) there was a good chance we'd have turned up and had no towels or bedding. Sorting this out took a lot of pre-arrival messaging. To be fair, although the chalet owners Holidu were hopeless at dealing with our concerns, Booking.com were excellent and agreed to refund the linen fees that were supposed to have been included in the price we paid. Other missing/broken items (hairdryer, chopping board, broken toilet seat) didn't help the feeling that this place was a bit unloved (although once notified, the pleasant local manager did sort these out promptly). The drama continued with a leaking water boiler that starting pouring into the rooms below at 3am!. No flushing toilets, hot or cold water and a chalet of 10 guests that morning was a challenge. But hey these things can happen. The manager replied at 8am and got us a new boiler. However, for the money this place should have been maintained and furnished to a significantly higher standard. It's a bit cramped. We were 8 adults and 2 children. You certainly would not want to have more people staying than that. Some rooms are very small and we had 2 adults on sofa beds on a landing with no privacy. 3 bathrooms, but only one shower. Kitchen basic. It is on the edge of town, so a bit of a walk to most of the action (although there is a free shuttle bus service in Val Thorens). We enjoyed our time on the slopes, but to be honest the chalet owners are taking advantage of guests, squeezing in so many and charging this much for a property of such a basic standard.
