FALSELY ADVERTISED: Spa Facilities Unavailable & Property Manager Fobbed Us Off We stayed at this apartment during the last week of May, having booked specifically because of the advertised indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. These facilities are prominently promoted — the very first line of our booking confirmation email highlighted them as a key feature of the property. On arrival, we found the spa area locked with a notice stating it does not open until the last weekend of June. We were never warned about this at any point before our trip. When we immediately raised this with the owner, he claimed he had sent us an email prior to arrival disclosing the closure. This was categorically untrue. I checked every email in my inbox — no such communication existed. Worse still, at the time of our stay, the booking.com listing continued to advertise the spa facilities with absolutely no mention of seasonal closure dates. Guests browsing this property right now may be booking under exactly the same false impression we were. The owner's response to our complaint was deeply unsatisfactory. He offered us a free extra night — a gesture that was completely worthless to us given that we had return flights to the UK booked, a hire car to return, and children who needed to be back at school. He then went on to ignore all further correspondence from us entirely. We were ultimately forced to escalate to booking.com directly. To their credit, they were professional and thorough — they reviewed the live listing, upheld our complaint in full, and issued us a partial refund as compensation. The fact that a third party had to intervene and rule in our favour speaks for itself. This property was falsely advertised. The owner was disingenuous when challenged. We would not recommend this apartment under any circumstances.
