I wouldn’t stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone, highly disappointed.

Clean, nice location next to a major shopping mall. The gated complex is very secure so you can sleep peacefully at night.

There was no running water when we arrived. Property owner provided some water in containers, when I requested for more (because we were three adults living at the place), I was asked go and purchase more water! How shocking! Property owner then had to audacity to say “this is what we put up with in South Africa” and “that is one of the reasons you get a discount when making your booking”. Owner went even further and said “u obviously didn’t read the house rules”. I guess what she was referring to is in the booking there is mention of potential loss of power and disruptions to water supply. Granted, a burst water mains was out of her control, however what was in her control was ensuring that our stay was comfortable. It took me to complain to booking..com that she eventually offered to go and shower at another property that she managed! Why wasn’t this offered in the first place!? Following the complaint to booking.com, owner offered 1 nights free accommodation, why would I accept that when there’s NO RUNNING WATER! Eventually I decided enough was enough and left after one night. I was so disappointed with not only the lack of running water but by the style of communication that followed. I will never book this place again and I will never recommend it to anyone. My advice to the property owner is please ensure that there is a backup plan to ensure guests don’t have to go and buy their own water to cook, bath, drinks and do laundry after running out of the little that you provide. Also, don’t become defensive and start using the state of the country as a reason to justify guests being uncomfortable and feeling unwelcome. Learn from other hosts (like the one we eventually moved to in Rosebank) that you need to “make a plan”, maybe that way you will get more positive reviews. I would have liked to comment about other things which I found wrong with this place but I’ll save that for another day.
