DON'T GET RIPPED OFF! NOT EVEN CLOSE TO 1700 SQUARE FEET, SAFETY HAZARDS, UNRESPONSIVE MANAGEMENT
The Ocean Park Building amenities and location are good.
Our stay at Ocean Park 1216 was disappointing due to major issues with the property and the management's subsequent unresponsiveness.
Misrepresentation of Condo size:
The unit is advertised as 1700 ft², which was the primary reason for our booking. The actual interior size is 1100 ft²— 600 ft² less than stated! We paid for 1700 ft² but only got 1100 ft².
Safety Issues:
The condo contained some serious safety hazards.
There are exposed electrical wires in the kitchen. This was dangerous, particularly with our toddler wanting to play with the colorful wires!
Also, the dishwasher is not properly secured and tips forward, and comes out of the cabinet when the rack is pulled out.
Don't let your child sleep on the top bunk! The safety rails are only held on by some duct tape!
Management Failure:
We formally reported the size discrepancy and the safety issues via email. Initially, the management promised to investigate. We followed up after several weeks, but as of today, Big Fish Rentals has provided no apology for severely overstating the condo size, no update, and no response to the documented hazards. They acknowledged the potential problems and then ignored us.
Future renters need to be warned about the grossly inaccurate square footage claim, and the management company's complete failure to address serious safety hazards.
