Beautiful location. The property has promise, but we were quite uncomfortable during our stay.
Easy to get inside. Car charger was convenient. The condo itself was beautifully decorated and had a welcoming layout. The hot tub was a nice reprieve from the cold. Providing coffee was appreciated. Kitchen was well supplied if a guest were to want to cook. The location close to trails was why we chose this booking, and the trails by the river were phenomenal.
First off, the furnace did not work. While the owner was quick to respond via text, there was not a solution and we were cold during our weekend trip in early October. He said it was a new furnace (so he did not know why it was not heating), but that did not help the situation (we switched off the breaker to reset the system more than once to restart without success). We could only find a couple baby blankets to use as we sat on the sofa. The beds were warm, though.
I did not appreciate the cleaning fee only revealed at the final stage of purchase; the cleaning up-charge should be in the Booking listing. I did not appreciate the surprise of HOA and house rules that would result in fines if not followed. As a member of my own HOA, I think the rules make sense, but I do not recall them being posted in the listing (e.g., how much trash can be collected before we would be fined, instructions to take home our trash or recycling, the noise restrictions during quiet hours result in a $500 fine). It would also be good to include in the listing that the condo shares a wall and a driveway with regular residents.
The instructions in the welcome book were not updated (e.g., the hot tub instructions, the note about a lighter for the outdoor fireplace, the notes about available restaurants at Suncadia including locations and what was open). The owner did, however, respond promptly via text to provide trouble shooting advice on how to turn on the hot tub.
The primary bathroom mirror was not cleaned, the soap dispensers were clogged, and the toilet had caked on urine on its broken handle (and had Lysol disinfectant in the toilet room instead of air refresher). The refrigerator water filter needs replacement. The hair conditioner in the primary bathroom was broken and smelly. The remote to the TV was sticky. It just seemed like whomever is used to maintain or clean the condo does not test the details.
