The most mosquito-infested place I've ever stayed, no screens, dead fans, and an owner who did nothing

I've stayed in hundreds of places and never written a Booking review before. This is my first, because this was the worst accommodation experience of my life. The mosquitos here are on a level I've never seen anywhere in the world — a relentless swarm, all night, every night — and there isn't one mosquito screen on a single window. Open a window and they pour in and never stop. We were bitten to pieces. Three bees also flew in during our stay. Add 40°C July heat and fans that are functionally broken: they make noise and move no air. So every night you get one choice — seal yourself into an airless 40-degree box, or open the windows and be eaten alive until sunrise. We didn't sleep at all, two nights straight. It destroyed a trip we'd looked forward to for months. The listing does say there's no AC and I booked it anyway, I admit this was my mistake, but also the listing doesn't say that the fans provided don't work, that there are zero window screens, or that the area is infested like nowhere I've ever been. We called the owner and calmly explained: the fans don't work, we can't open the windows, we can't sleep. We asked for anything — a working fan, a screen, any fix — or to cancel so we could move somewhere we could sleep. Her entire response, over and over, was "the apartment says no AC." No solution, no flexibility, nothing. Also, no parking if you have a car. If you're considering this place in summer, know what you're buying: no air, dead fans, no screens, a mosquito plague, and a host who won't lift a finger.

Centraal gelegen!
