Shady behavior from the host, the apartment is fine.

The AC worked, the bed was comfortable

The host told us to cancel the booking on booking.com, otherwise there would be an additional €400 deposit outside of the booking system without any security for me. I dodged this and never paid but this is unacceptable and a shady behavior. Afterwards it seems like the host is claiming that we never stayed there since I have been asked to confirm that we did.

Don't give these people a deposit payment

The apartment was very nice and air conditioned. Pricing seemed reasonable

Owner did not return security deposit. Requested this deposit via PayPal. Wanted me to send it as friends and family instead of business where you have a grace period to return money sent. Asked me to cancel my booking on booking.com and just get it from him directly most likely due to the fees he pays for booking finding him customers but probably also so you can't file a complaint when they do something shady... Like not return the security deposit🙃 The listing on booking didn't say anything about a deposit but after you book he will send you a message letting you know you won't be aloud in until you PayPal him using friends and family or just hand over cash. Washer and dryer didn't work.
