Worst host ever, do not book.
This host should not be renting out on booking.com.
To begin, the booking.com listing says free parking but in our check-in instructions (sent only AFTER we paid AND it was non-refundable) said we had to pay for parking in the building garage via an app. When we clarified, the host said only off-street parking was free, but it would have been great if the listing had made this clear. Even though it was only $20.88, we politely asked if a reimbursement was possible since they did not clearly communicate this, but they did not budge.
The next morning, we realized our rental car had been towed. We called the towing company, and they said it was because we were parked on the ramp which required hanging permits and not digital permits. NOWHERE in the booking.com listing, the check-in instructions, nor the parking garage, did they indicate this information. We told the host this, and they confidently argued that they had included this information in the check-in instructions, but then they checked and realized they didn’t. They had even sent a message before we checked in that they were aware multiple guests also getting towed, yet they were still intentionally omitting this information that you can’t park in certain spots.
We had to uber to the towing company, withdraw hundreds of dollars in cash to pay them and reclaim our car. We relayed all this to the host and they did not even apologize. The sheer lack of acknowledgment, empathy, and reassurance that this is an issue to address is astounding. The emotional stress and burden from this situation as well as the time wasted, have ruined our vacation.
other negatives: feces around the building, broken door within the building, no body wash (host said they’ll deliver and they didn’t), hair in towels.
