Overall, the apartment has some positive aspects, but the experience was overshadowed by several avoidable issues. Bette
The apartment was within walking distance of the town centre, making it easy to get around. The balcony had a decent view, the refrigerator was large, and the apartment itself was relatively spacious.
The address listed on Booking was not the same as the location where we actually stayed. This caused significant frustration when we arrived by ferry, and we specifically booked this accommodation because of its advertised location.
The staff spoke very little English, making communication difficult and leading to several misunderstandings throughout our stay. We also found the staff to be unfriendly on multiple occasions, which made us feel unwelcome.
The bed in the living room was too short for adults. As a reference, it was too short for someone who is 175 cm tall.
Guests sleeping in the living room were woken up every morning between 6 and 7 a.m. by chickens outside.
The apartment is located right next to the main road, resulting in noticeable traffic noise that takes away from the experience of relaxing on the balcony.
There is only air conditioning in the bedroom. If you are staying with more than two people, you need to keep the bedroom door open at all times for the rest of the apartment to stay reasonably cool.
The apartment was not cleaned during our stay. The rubbish was never collected, including the bathroom bin (where toilet paper must be disposed of because it cannot be flushed), and towels and bed linen were not changed.
The curtains do very little to block out light, and there is limited privacy due to neighbouring properties overlooking the apartment.
It is worth knowing that you are staying in part of a family’s home rather than in a typical hotel or private studio apartment. Large parts of the kitchen are blocked off, and we constantly felt like we had to be careful not to disturb the family, even with normal things like playing music.
We also ended up paying a higher price than expected upon arrival, so be aware that you may be asked to pay additional charges.
