Atalaya Resort El Nido

Amazing resort with unbelievable views! The food was gorgeous and the staff went above and beyond for us everyday.

It was a bit far from the main town however the driver did their best to drop us off everyday but it can get a little tricky if you don’t have a motorbike

Everything here was a dream: the staff, the view, the food, we loved every minute spent here. Best sunset view in El Nido, the pool is amazing and the cocktails on point. The bed was very confortable and the breakfast absolutely delicious. The staff is so kind and helps you with everything, from renting a scooter, a transfer or a massage, to the best tours! Thank you to the whole team! Would love to come back one day!

The property is a bit far from the town, but they have a free shuttle. They used wood and natural materials in the rooms, which is great, but there were some cocoons in the closet, it needs to be checked regularly. Also I think this property should be adults only, a kid learning to swim in the pool at sunset was weird for all the other guests.

Our stay at Atalaya Resort was truly magical, and while it was our honeymoon, the resort itself made it an extraordinary experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly special. The team had prepared a lovely honeymoon surprise waiting for us in our villa. The villa itself offered breathtaking views, which continued throughout the property, from the restaurant to the stunning infinity pool. We spent hours there; watching the sunset with a drink in hand, great background music playing, and that sweeping view was pure romance. Even though the resort was fully booked, it never felt crowded. We rarely crossed paths with other guests and often had the entire pool area practically to ourselves, giving our stay a wonderfully private and serene feel. The food and drinks were consistently delicious, and the hotel arranged our island-hopping tours seamlessly, so we didn't have to stress about planning a single thing. Above all, the staff was flawless. They were always smiling, remarkably attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed. A very special shoutout goes to the manager and to Julieta at the reception, both were fantastic, so warm and welcoming, and we truly enjoyed every conversation with them. We are so grateful we chose Atalaya for our honeymoon, and we will be reminiscing about these memories for a very long time. We truly hope to return one day!

The staff is super friendly and helpful. They would bring breakfast to the room, and book tours or rent bikes via them (outsourced), The view from the pool/ restaurant is gorgeous. The bungalows are cute, spaceous and the mix of concrete with traditional roofs feels stylish. You wake up with an amazing view over the bay and the close islands. The breakfast was good and when included in the stay, they offer a generous amount of food. On the other hand, there is quite a few things that made our stay not that comfortable.

We couldn’t use the sun lounges at the beautiful pool because there is no shade or parasols to hide under. This is really a shame as this spot is the highlight of the resort. This could easily be changed. When asking, the resort told us they’re still in the process of opening. Which is fair, but two months in the business we very likely were not the first ones to ask this question. Although offering a great view as mentioned above, you can hear and see the road (well frequented), especially from your terraces. We couldn’t use a credit card as payment. We needed to pay via PayPal which due to fees made it more expensive. (not communicated in advance, only during our stay) The restaurant food is good, but not extraordinary. Overall, it could have been a nice stay. But here is the thing: considering the price range, there is just too many things which didn’t justify what we paid. Maybe we just had bad luck and if communication and parasols (!) changed, it already would have been a greater experience.
