Travelling with a dog? Don’t stay here.

The house is okay — there was nothing particularly wrong with it, and it has most of what you need for a comfortable stay (oven, microwave, espresso coffee machine, toaster, etc.). It could have been better in terms of the basic consumables provided: there was only one roll of toilet paper, no soap, and almost no dishwashing liquid. In other places we have stayed, we have often been pleasantly surprised by the little extras provided in this respect. But this was not a major issue — we simply went out and bought what we needed. It would have been nice to have a double bed instead of two separate single beds with a bedside table between them. Perhaps the room could be reconfigured depending on the guests — for couples, the two beds could be placed together and made up with double bedding.

Our main issue should come as no surprise to the host, as we discussed it shortly after arriving. Unfortunately, it had a major impact on our holiday. We booked this property specifically because it was advertised as pet-friendly. We were travelling with our Portuguese Water Dog and informed the host in advance. Although we received no written reply, I called the day before our arrival and everything seemed fine. To our surprise, once inside the apartment, we found a sign stating that dogs were not allowed! At around the same time, the host messaged us asking us not to walk our dog around the complex because there had been complaints. We were told there was an ongoing disagreement between some property owners and the complex management regarding dogs. My wife wanted to leave, but we were persuaded to stay and agreed to take our dog only to the grassy area behind the house. He was always on a leash and we always cleaned up after him. Despite this, whenever I went outside with him, a neighbour would come out to check what we were doing. We felt constantly watched and extremely uncomfortable. The complex manager later came to the house to speak to us, explained the situation and acknowledged that it was not our fault. In the end, as requested, we avoided the complex entirely: we never used the pool, the restaurant/snack bar, or even walked around the grounds. We simply did not feel welcome! The problem is not that the complex has restrictions regarding dogs, but that the property was advertised as pet-friendly and we only discovered these restrictions and the existing conflict after arriving. This should have been made absolutely clear before accepting our booking.

So worth it!

Such a fantastic location, great facilities (a proper pool and restaurant) and just a 10 min walk from the nearest beach. All that for such a great price - can’t recommend more!

Nice place in a good location.

Nice location near the sea and town.

Lacking a few basic necessities that you'd usually expect, like salt and cooking oil etc. The communication could have been better. For example, we didn't know how we'd get the keys until we were there, and we needed help to find the apartment. We also didn't know that it was privately rented rather than going to reception. It was also sometimes noisy with the guest upstairs on a tiled floor.

Brand new cosy villa with the amazing beaches in proximity.

It was absolutely amazing place. Villa was freshly renovated, all equipment, kitchen, culinary tools were brand new. Everything was new and clean. We especially enjoyed our morning coffee in the terrace with the green grass. Location is worth compliments as well - you can reach couple of the most beautiful beaches in the world just on foot (~ 8 min walk and you can do your morning exercises right on the shore of Atlantic ocean, and jump into it thereafter). 2 min by car to reach the beaches (with the parking places available down here). Surrounded by other villas, with a few people, it was really a serene place suitable for those searching for a peaceful recharge in the proximity of a beautiful nature.

Maybe for a couples a double bed would be a preference, but it was not a problem for us as we connected 2 single beds.

Tudo muito limpo e decorado com muito bom gosto. Piscina agradável e espaços exteriores tranquilos.

Falta de pressão da água do chuveiro... Não possui cama de casal e as 2 camas não dão para juntar.

Gostamos de tudo. Casa bem mobilada, tudo muito confortável, carro estacionado a menos de 5 metros da porta da rua, nada de formigas ou mosquitos, nada de ruido, cozinha bem equipada, sofá cama de boas dimensões e confortável tanto para sentar como para dormir e piscina excelente a uns 50 metros da casa. A repetir!

La proximité de la plage ,la piscine . Le parking gratuit. Le service de ménage au top .

Il aurait été utile d'indiquer que toute la résidence est en travaux avec les nuisances que cela comporte. La musique le soir qui résonne dans l.appartement . Les coordonnées gps qui vous amènent sur la zone de travaux et pas a l.appartement. les fourmis qui envahissent la cuisine et la salle de bain. Quand l.acceuil est marqué a 15 h ,il faudrait que l.appartembt soit prêt. On a attendu jusqu'à 18h que le ménage soit fait ,du coup impossible de s.installer . On n'a pas vu le loueur de toute la durée de notre séjour. C'est plutôt un Rbnb .
