Not suitable for families or longer stays – poorly maintained and appalling communication

We stayed for 8 nights as a family, and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing.
Communication was appalling from the outset. Despite repeatedly contacting the host after travelling for approximately 16 hours, check-in details were only provided a few hours before arrival. We became so concerned that we had to involve Booking.com and insist that alternative accommodation was available should we arrive and be unable to access the apartment.
Once inside, the Wi-Fi instructions provided were incorrect and we could not connect. We immediately messaged the contact number given for assistance. Eight days later, we had checked out and still had not received a response. Ironically, the only communication that arrived promptly was the automated check-out message.
The apartment itself is tired, dirty, damp and exceptionally poorly maintained. It feels unloved and is simply not suitable for an 8-night family stay. Furniture is mismatched, uncomfortable and in places broken; lighting throughout is inadequate; walls are paper-thin; and the AC/fan equipment is incredibly loud.
It is also important to reiterate that this does not appear to be a traditional two-bedroom apartment. The second “bedroom” appears to have been created by partitioning part of what was originally a one-bedroom apartment with a thin gypsum/plasterboard wall. This results in extremely poor sound insulation and temperature control and, in our opinion, is very different from what most families would reasonably expect when booking a two-bedroom apartment.
The bedroom blind is broken and simply drops to the floor rather than operating properly. The bathroom was also unpleasant: the bathtub was dirty with deep staining and the plumbing/water noise was incredibly loud.
The kitchen is extremely basic – there wasn’t even a kettle – with limited equipment and what appeared to be miscellaneous items left behind by previous guests.
