Good location near the marina, but missing essentials and unclear policies made the stay uncomfortable.
The location is close to the marina, which is a definite advantage. I also appreciated the apartment coordinator’s friendly manner and genuine efforts to help, although several essential issues remained unresolved.
Unfortunately, several issues made our stay uncomfortable:
1. An unexpected USD 200 security deposit was requested after booking, without prior notice. I paid it, but this caused inconvenience, as guests may not have that amount readily available in cash. The deposit and payment requirements should be clearly communicated before booking.
2. There was an unpleasant smell in the apartment.
3. Basic necessities were missing, including tissues, soap, and towels. There were no towels at all.
4. Pillowcases were missing. We were promised they would be provided, but they never arrived during our stay.
5. There was no Wi-Fi (because the subscription had not been paid, according to the coordinator). Mobile reception was also extremely weak, making internet access very difficult.
6. No drinking water was provided—not even two or three bottles for our arrival until we could go out and buy some. When I raised this afterward, the coordinator described items such as water as optional extras rather than essentials. In my view, providing a small amount of drinking water on arrival is a basic gesture of hospitality.
7. At the end of the stay, while I was discussing these concerns, the coordinator said he had been accommodating by not charging me a late check-in fee, since check-in was at 2 p.m. and I arrived at 10 p.m. This was the first time I had been told about such a fee. Any additional charges should be disclosed before booking, and waiving an undisclosed fee should not be presented as a favor when a guest raises concerns.
8. The entry QR code arrangements were unclear. Initially, I was told the code would allow entry only until midnight, which made me question how I would return if I went out and came back later. Although the coordinator shared the code with me, guests should be given clear access instructions and a code that remains valid throughout their stay.
