Rapacious and Rude in Rapallo
The location, a short walk from the waterfront and restaurants, was good. Other than that--Zero.
What a disaster as a place with absolutely no support from the owner. There was NOT AC in the bedroom during a code-red heatwave declared by the Italian government. Worse, there was NOT EVEN A FAN in the bedroom. There was NO WIFI in the apartment. When the owner is informed, the nonchalant dismissal is beyond anything I have ever encountered in my years renting in many countries with Booking.com. If you see that you are directed to Novasol when you are trying to book at Booking.com, you will be sorely disappointed. They do not answer. They do not care. They get low ratings from TrustPilot for good reason. I informed them especially of my need for them to deliver the wifi they promised, and I paid for, for work, but they just wouldn't respond in any useful way. They could not care less. They told me to plug and unplug the modem (duh! of course) but it never worked and the flashing light to indicate connection to a service NEVER once came on. Despite repeated requests, their answers went from dismissive "solve-it-yourself" to just ignoring my pleas. Between the promise of AC (there was one split in the living room with VERY LOW power), there was none at all the bedroom and not even fan. Never one second of wifi. THEN just before your arrival in high season when you are unlikely to find another place to stay, they demand an additional 160 euros only in CASH more ! For two nights! Nonsense. Bait and switch. Go elsewhere. I pleaded with them to get things right, I asked for some sort of refund---all fell on deaf ears. The worst place I have ever stayed at, with the worst attitude from the owner. Booking, com, we deserve better from you, too--stop allowing us to be redirected to the very low rated Novasol (1.2 out of 5 stars) and the owners who do business with them.
