Welcome to Domus Aromatica,
a cozy home in the green heart
of Umbria, just a stone's throw from the center of
Assisi. Domus Aromatica grew out of our
organic farm project, OFFICINA DELLE AROMATICHE, nestled in the Umbrian hills, where we grow and
produce high-quality
medicinal plants—strictly organic—to create essential oils and cosmetic products.
DOMUS AROMATICA was born from the inspiration provided by our plants and our land: we have independently renovated and furnished this cozy and spacious accommodation, in the green heart of Umbria, just a stone’s throw from the center of Assisi. A spacious 150-square-meter apartment, located on the second floor of a small building, with a PRIVATE ENTRANCE. It offers a cozy and charming atmosphere, entirely inspired by the medicinal plants grown on our farm. The 4 BEDROOMS that make up the apartment are dedicated to our most representative plants—lavender, cornflower, calendula, and helichrysum—with soft, soothing furnishings and colors that fully evoke their magical, beneficial, and relaxing properties, perfect for unwinding during your stay in Assisi.
We provide single and double beds (no sofa beds), with memory foam mattresses and pillows, high-quality cotton sheets, and lightweight quilts or all-season comforters. Every room features USB ports and spacious BALCONIES with picturesque views of the valley and/or the green park in front of the property. Serving the rooms are spacious, private bathrooms located outside the rooms, all with windows, where you’ll find our homemade organic lavender-scented soap, as well as face towels, a bidet, and a shower made of ultra-soft terry cloth. A hair dryer is also available in every bathroom. Shared with other guests is a spacious KITCHEN equipped with a natural gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, stainless steel cutlery, a complete set of dishes, glasses, and various utensils, as well as a pod-style coffee machine that we provide for guests’ use, along with herbal teas, cookies, and jams. The kitchen opens onto a spacious and picturesque BALCONY overlooking the valley. SPACIOUS LIVING ROOM: adjacent to the kitchen, perfect for your moments of relaxation, furnished with a comfortable wooden sofa and armchairs, a TV, a record player, a small bookshelf, and various board games for adults and children. The spacious terrace off the living room, overlooking the park, is furnished with a small table and chairs for those who wish to enjoy the magical atmosphere of the place. Wi-Fi with unlimited data is available throughout the property. During your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to sample and purchase our products. Come visit us
Our strategic location JUST OUTSIDE THE CITY WALLS and near Porta dei Cappuccini allows you to PARK FOR FREE and reach, in just a few minutes on foot, the center of Assisi with its most important attractions, including the CATHEDRAL OF SAN RUFINO, the BASILICA OF SANTA CHIARA, the church of SANTA MARIA MAGGIORE (where the remains of Blessed Carlo Acutis rest), and the BASILICA OF SAN FRANCESCO. Also just a few minutes’ drive away are some of the area’s most picturesque spots, including the Hermitage
delle Carceri, Mount Subasio, and the
most beautiful villages in Umbria.
From the Assisi train station, our property is accessible by public bus. We also offer a free shuttle service upon request.

This apartment might be the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in! Chip and Joanna Gaines on HGTV would love the Italian attention to detail. Nice updated kitchen, including coffee pods and cookies-- thank you! Not a 10 rating because: 1) the 4th bedroom was locked off and not accessible. 2) we never used the living room because the sparse furniture was so hard and narrow. The only "hangout spot" was around the kitchen table. 3) Hard surfaces are easy to clean, but they echo and are noisy. As a multi-generational family, we needed something more cozy for family games or watching a movie together.

Host was so kind standing outside and waiting for us as we were lost and late. The apartment is beautiful with a great view. Google maps takes you behind the apartment and say you are there. You have to go around and then take the road heading downward and inward to the circle you just made
