Poor cleaning job and poor management, not worth the money
We had the place for ourselves, it was spacious 3 bedroom, 1 full bathroom and 1 half bathroom. We liked the washer and dryer, big beds for each bedroom. They also had plenty of paper towels for the guest. This place was away from the core downtown, so the neighborhood was quiet. Since we had a car, it was easy for us to drive out, but for travelers on foot, it's probably a far walk to the main street. Dollarama/Superstore were nearby, so we were able to buy laundry detergent and lobster utensils. Since the place lacked those stuff, we left them for the next guests to use. House itself was spacious, but it is bi-level, so there are a lot of stairs to go between rooms (all in the basement) and kitchen/living room on the 1.5 floor.
Despite it being a nice place, we wouldn't recommend to anyone.
1. No clear instruction on New Brunswick waste/recycling system. Host provided basic instruction, but they didn't provide information on where to discard general waste (clear bag). They didn't put out clear bags for us to use either. We had to scavenge through the drawers to find them, which wasn't even enough for the whole stay. They put compost/recycling bags in the washroom, but sanitary and make up products are general waste you have to put in the clear bag. We found this information through Google search and set up the bags ourselves in each washroom. Host wasn't helpful, they ordered the bags to the place with their cleaning supplies and asked us to put it inside the house. They should check the place before guests arrive to make sure there are enough supplies. They should not order deliveries and expect guests to pick them up.
2. Bed frame/mattress were broken, caused severe back pains, 2 dining chairs were broken and we almost fell while eating. Kitchen frying pans/utensils were scratched/uncleaned/damaged.
3. Washrooms were dirty, there were pubic hairs left behind the toilet and some cleaner stains on the walls, washroom fan was full of dust. Out at the front yard, there are also uncollected garbage/compost/recycling from previous guests. It doesn't seem like hosts actually come out to clean the place. Very disappointed.
4. No privacy curtain beside entrance window is a big concern.
5. During the checkout when we already left, host sent a checkout information and in that asked us to run towel laundry. Typically, before we checkout, we collect all the garbage in one location and gather towels in one location. We do this to help. If this is expected, hosts should include that information on booking.com and charge less money.
Overall, the facility was great, but poor management, damaged furniture and rude host.
