A disappointing stay due to poor maintenance, inadequate communication and numerous issues that caused significant disru
The location was good and there were shops near by.
Unfortunately, our experience at this property was extremely disappointing, and the apartment did not reflect the standard we expected based on the listing and photographs. From the beginning of our stay, we experienced a number of maintenance and cleanliness issues.
One of the biggest problems was the fridge, which was not working properly from the first day. As we were a group staying for several days, we had purchased food and drinks for the apartment, but we were unable to store them at a safe temperature. We had to repeatedly purchase bags of ice in an attempt to keep things cold, but almost of our food spoiled and had to be thrown away.
The fridge was not working from the moment we arrived so we reported this on our arrival on Wednesday but a handyman did not until Friday night, so when a small replacement fridge was eventually provided. By that point, however, we had already experienced considerable inconvenience and food waste. We also ended up ordering takeaways more frequently than we had planned because we could not properly store food in the apartment.
Communication throughout this process was also frustrating. We were not provided with adequate or consistent updates and I frequently had to chase the host to find out what was happening. On several occasions, we were told that the handyman would be attending at a particular time, so we would wait at the apartment expecting him, only for him to arrive much later than we had been told. This meant that time we should have been spending enjoying our holiday was instead spent waiting around at the property or repeatedly contacting the host for updates.
We also experienced significant issues with the air conditioning. It was leaking water and when the handyman eventually attended, he informed us that there were water tanks outside connected to the air-conditioning system which we were expected to empty manually.
This had never been communicated to us by the host, either before our stay or when we arrived.
