The worst experience I’ve ever had on Booking. Would NOT recommend for 100%
-
The house is difficult to find. It is situated on a hill behind the trees and another house that is under construction. You don’t see it from the road, and you need to climb the hill to find it. To get to the house you need to climb the hill covered by crushed stone through the construction. Which is not fine at all, especially with the luggage in the dark, be aware of it.
In pictures, you see the terrace, but it is not prepared for use at all. Furniture was covered by dust and leaves, placed chaotically. You feel like you came to a seasonal summer house at the beginning of the season, and you need to clean it up first in order to use it.
The facilities were ok, but there were several mandatory elements missing, like bath towels, a hair dryer, a duvet cover, and dishwashing liquid (the dishes were dirty and without the liquid, we had no chance to wash them). There were a couple of small towels and they seemed to be new. So new that they had never been washed, and were dusty and smelled like the towels that were lying on the shelves in a store for a very long period of time. The blanket was old and smelly, so using it without a fresh duvet cover was impossible. We've traveled all day and arrived by evening, all that we needed was to take a shower, drink a cup of tea, and have a nap. This was impossible due to the mentioned factors.
It took us 2 hours to realize that in these conditions we don’t want to spend our vacation and decided to leave the property. I’ve contacted the owner and described the situation. Apologized for the inconvenience and offered to pay for 1 day (since we already spent 2h there) and asked for a refund of the rest of the booked days. She agreed. But when Booking contacted her to confirm the refund, she refused to refund anything and accused me of lying, saying that I was expecting 5-star hotel facilities, which I’ve never stated.
