The apartment itself is great - modern, clean, and in an impressive building with a fantastic location. The balcony is also nice!
Communication from the host was extremely poor. It's a pretty basic requirement as a host to ensure guests are able to check-in and get all promised deliverables on arrival, and since the apartment is on the residential side, reception cannot assist with anything. This leaves guests completely on their own, and it's even more important that the host is reachable in the highly likely case of issues as it seems.
I was told that there was an assigned parking bay, and was given the bay number by the host, however this is in the residential section of the underground parking which is unaccessible unless the host has registered your vehicle to be detectable by the booms beforehand. Reception is unable to help with this unless done by the host.
All that was needed, was for the host to complete the admin at any point during my stay, and I wouldn't have been charged for parking. After several attempts to contact the owner through the app & WhatsApp I got no response, and ended up having to pay R400 for visitor's parking for my one night stay.
I'm a pretty understanding/reasonable person and wasn't even going to write a public review and sent a private message to the owner explaining my frustrations, but didn't receive an apology or a valid explanation. This was unfortunate, as I came into the stay feeling positive and the communication beforehand had been satisfactory.
