A fantastic base for discovering the city. The location is one of the apartment’s biggest strengths, with shopping, tourist attractions, supermarkets, bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance. The subway is around 10 minutes away on foot, so getting across the city is effortless while still having plenty to explore right on the doorstep. The apartment itself feels stylish and well considered, with a smart modern finish, a practical layout and an impressive amount of storage space. It has a kind of a polished city-apartment feel that makes a short stayrelative easy and comfortable with the potential of being an option for anyone wanting to experience the city without compromising on space or style.
Luxury” is a brave word. It suggests comfort, quality, attention to detail, functionality and service. Here, it seemed to mean stylish interiors, decorative plants and a premium price tag. Unfortunately, once you start actually using the space, the luxury label becomes increasingly difficult to defend. The kitchen-the clearest example. Plates, glasses and cutlery were mismatched and basic, the dishwasher had been installed so badly that the door could not open properly, and the freezer was so iced up that opening the drawers became a small daily challenge. For a six-day stay, the coffee provision consisted of two pods. Two. Total. Meanwhile, the cupboards were full of half-used oil, sugar, salt, crackers and other leftovers from previous guests, which felt less “luxury apartment” and more “community pantry with designer lighting”. The apartment is on the ground floor, something not particularly clear in the original advert, and the kitchen and dining area face the entrance and parking area. With the automatic blinds not working properly, passers-by had a surprisingly good view inside. Several trendy door handles also preferred to come off in your hand rather than remain attached to the door, while two doors in the dining and kitchen areas were broken and stayed partly open. The bathroom looked attractive, but one tired set of towels per guest for almost a week felt rather less premium. The bedroom followed the same pattern: stylish to look at, less impressive to sleep in, with cheap-feeling linen and extremely thin pillows. The garden was nicely designed in principle, but looked neglected and in need of attention. Communication with host was slow, practical solutions were limited and the eventual conversation felt defensive rather than helpful. On my next visit to Bucharest, I will happily try one of the many other options available — preferably somewhere where luxury is something you experience rather than something you simply read in the advert.
