While the driveway is safe for vehicles with four wheels, it is not safe for motorcycles.
There is plenty of room in the parking area to park 2 vehicles . If you plan to bring a trailer, please contact owners for parking arrangements.
Our cabin has 3 bedrooms (1 queen, 2 doubles and a double futon in the second level great room) , 2 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, cable tv, dvd, cell and internet service, The bed linens, towels and pillows are high quality, and the cabin is cleaned throughly after each use. It is licensed and inspected regularly by the South Dakota Department of Health.
Two spacious decks offer beautiful views and are furnished with wicker furniture and a gas grill . View the famous Mickelson Trail from the decks as well as deer, turkey, and occasionally an elk. There is a fireplace in the cabin as well as outside. The cabin is 18 miles to Historic Deadwood, 35 miles to Crazy Horse, 30 miles to Mt Rushmore, 38 miles to Legendary Sturgis and 25 miles to Deerfield Lake.
Cabin Rules: Sleep In, Take Long Walks, Relax, Roast Hot Dogs and S'mores, Reconnect with Family, Count the Stars, Play Games, Read a Book, Take a Nap in the Hammock, Make Treasured Memories.

The cabin is in the Black Hills on the mountain surrounded by trees and has a beautiful view, it is very quiet, relaxing and tranquil. It has a windy driveway that goes up the left side of the Moonshine Gulch Saloon. It actually sits behind and above the saloon, on the mountain. It is two levels so you have the wraparound porch on the first level and a view long balcony on the second floor. Lots of games, good books, vcr, Kitchen was stocked to cook.Fining the cabin: We used the Moonshine Gulch Saloon address on our GPS to find the location in the town of Rochford which is an hour from Hill City. The town of Rochford was the perfect setting for our group. We wanted to be away from touristy areas and wanted a real Black Hills town experience. We also loved the town of Nemo where we went rented side by sides and went off roading. There is 100 miles of trails available. We ate at the Chute Rooster in Hill City and the Alpine Inn. Recommend both. This was our first trip to SD. We are from Florida. So the weather was exceptional, the location was exceptional and the people are our kind of people. The Hosts were great. Could not ask for a better place to stay.

This property we stayed in is in Rochford, South Dakota, not Blue Oaks, Pennington Co. noted on the e-mail.Beautifully appointed cabin in a delightful rural setting on a hill side. Hosts are very accommodating and provide every amenity for the traveler.Suggest the listing identify the location as Rochford instead of Hill City which is a fair distance away.

Rosemary and Al treated my Wife and I well at their family cabin. Amazing view, cabin in perfect shape and fit nicely nestled in the mountains. The location of their place allowed us to see everything that the area had to offer like Mt Rushmore,Crazy Horse, Custer State Park ,Devils Tower Wyoming ,lots of Scenic Byways etc…. The Roth cabin allows you to soak in the peace and quite and enjoy the outdoors as well as view nature at its finest.

We enjoyed everything from the hummingbirds in the morning, to the extremely comfortable furniture, to the deck with so many wonderful places to sit, even a hammock!! It was a fabulous experience, especially after a not so good one. The communication was excellent!! We can’t say enough good things about this place, we simply loved it!!
