About this house rental

Fall on the farm is quiet, and there's nowhere to be. The cattle graze out in the pasture, the air cools off in the evening, and after dark the only light is the stars and a string of lights across the grounds.

The Little Farmhouse is a custom-built home for two on our 117-acre working Wagyu farm, just outside Lynden. It's small on purpose and short on nothing: a full kitchen, a queen bed with good sheets, and the top of Mount Baker and the Twin Sisters showing across the fields.

𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬

This is a real working farm. During your stay, you may see cattle, farm equipment, and normal day-to-day farm life around the property.

Guests love the peaceful setting, wide-open skies, and the chance to slow down and reconnect with simpler things.

𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗞𝗜𝗧𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗡 + 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗧

The kitchen includes pots, pans, dishes, and basic cooking essentials for easy meals during your stay, plus a grill on the patio from June to September.

Since you're staying on a Wagyu farm, you might as well enjoy some of our beef!

We raise Wagyu and Angus cattle right here on the farm, and you'll find a variety of cuts in our Farmstead Market. Just let us know and we'll open it up for you. Everything is frozen, so if you'd like something ready to cook, order one of our pre-made boxes at least 24 hours before arrival and we'll have it thawed and waiting at check-in.

Grab a steak, head back to the Farmhouse, and cook dinner just steps from where it was raised.

Our hot tub is fully enclosed with privacy fencing and a gated entrance, a short walk through the grove from the Little Farmhouse. It's the perfect place to relax, watch the steam rise, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the farm.

After you book, we'll send a calendar link so you can reserve your own 45-minute time slot. The hot tub is yours alone during your slot.

• Open daily, 7:45 AM to 9:45 PM. The last session starts at 9 PM.

• From November through February it's dark by suppertime, so an evening soak really is under the stars

• Solar lights line the path, and there's a lantern for the walk after dark

• Professionally maintained by Tub Tec Service to keep the water clean, balanced, and ready for you to enjoy

𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗘

Take evening walks down the quiet farm lane, watch sunsets over the pasture, enjoy your own private fire pit, there year-round, or simply sit outside and enjoy the slower rhythm of farm life.

The farm is a shared space, so you'll see other guests around, especially RV campers in summer. Everyone still has room to enjoy their own quiet corner, and quiet hours run 10 PM to 7 AM.

One well-behaved dog under 50 lbs is welcome. Add your dog to your reservation to see the pet fee. Bringing your dog's own bed or crate helps keep things fresh for the next guest.

Dogs stay on a leash whenever they're outside, stay off the beds and furniture, and are never left alone anywhere on the farm, so plan outings your dog can join, or book a local dog sitter or daycare for the day. Please keep barking to a minimum and keep your dog clear of the cattle and our barn cats.

Herding breeds or dogs that react to livestock: please message us before booking. Full dog rules, including breed limits, are in the House Rules.

It was the most relaxing stay we have ever had in a rental. The size of the unit was perfect for the two of us. Sun rise and sunsets we beautiful. The Wagyu steak we ordered was wonderful, just wished there was a cast iron pan to cool it on. No worries I brought my own. Lol

The Little Farmhouse worked well for our October visit. It was quiet, even though we shared the grounds with some RVs for some of the time. We especially enjoyed seeing a wide variety of birds out the front window; migrating geese, woodpeckers, bald eagles, and several others. Also, seeing the weather and sun playing withe top of Mt. Baker. The bed was comfortable, but, as the pictures show, there's almost nowhere to unpack clothes. Everything in the kitchen worked as it should, so we were able to cook most of our meals there. It took a couple days to figure out the heat; the bedroom has its own thermostat and radiator (near the ceiling, unfortunately). We turned it off at night because in the mornings it made a faint knocking sound that woke us up because there was pretty much no other sound to cover it. We enjoyed the farm-themed hardware. We were a little worried before the visit because there are quite a few restrictive rules. But it turns out that those are there in case guests cause problems for the other guests. If you're confident that you won't do that, then don't worry about the most restrictive rules. Lisa is very friendly in person, but not intrusive at all.

We had a short but wonderful stay here while exploring Whatcom County. Quiet farm setting with beautiful surrounding and a well appointed cottage.
