About this house rental
Cat's Cove is situated on 2 private beachfront acres on the beautiful turquoise waters of the Exuma Sound. And with an empty lot next to us for even more privacy! We recently purchased the home in 2021 and have made many upgrades and renovations including new windows and doors in June 2023.

The Space:
The home features a large Tiki bar with seating for 8+, solar nighttime lighting, a sundeck, open floor plan with a fully stocked kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining areas, and wifi throughout the home. The "Cove" beach is wonderful for snorkeling right from the beach (we have some gear, but also bring own gear!). You can see many colorful tropical fish less than 50 yards from the beach! The "Tiki" beach to the left features pristine white soft sand and is ideal for swimming and relaxing. Just follow the short yellow ball path in front of the Tiki Bar to find the beach! (the sand shifts with the seasons, so depending when you're there, it might be more sandy on the Cove Beach, it might be more sandy on the Tiki beach!).
**When storms come the sand sometimes washes away from 1 or both beaches. It always comes back, but we'll try to keep you updated as your date approaches how sandy each beach is!**
The home features 3 bedrooms, a king, a queen, and 2 singles. The primary bedroom has access to a bathroom with dual sinks, newly installed large walk-in shower with natural stone and tile floors, and with a rain showerhead. All bedrooms enjoy their own outdoor access directly to the beach with beautiful views. The home also features beach chairs, various board games and reading books to enjoy when relaxing.
Guests have access to 2 ocean kayaks. Please be sure to drag them well up the beach when not as use as guests will be responsible for a charge of $1500 per kayak to replace them if lost or damaged.
Guest access:
New dishwasher, new stove, new washer/dryer. Although always best to hang clothes on the outside clothesline with the ocean breezes!
Wifi: We added Starlink in 2023 which provides generally very fast internet speeds. We also have an outdoor extender and an indoor one. In case you want to stay connected while on vacation. :)
Flights to Cat Island:
Makers Air: Fly into Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, or West Palm Beach, take an Uber to Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport, and fly Maker's Air directly to New Bight Airport on Cat Island.
Western Air: Fly In Nassau. Fly Western Air directly to New Bight on Cat Island
Others: We can also help arrange charter flights if needed

Cat's Cove is incredible. The perfect place to get away--REALLY get away. The beaches are beautiful-can't describe it. Aqua seas at your doorstep with curious, colorful fish just offshore.House is stunning-just as pictured. Two bedroom suites at opposite ends, each with a bath. A third bedroom sits between them--Perfect for kids! The kitchen is fully equipped-even an ice maker (a true luxury on any island)! The beds are comfy and the rooms comfortable with or without the A/C units. The grounds are stunning &fragrant. You'll be visited on the patio/tiki by curious lizards. Be sure to take time to enjoy the cool, shaded Tiki Bar. It's truly a dream. Owner Cat & caretakers Debbie & Tinny were helpful & responsive.Cat Island itself is amazing! No development here-it's pristine & unspoiled. The new airport and roadways seem to indicate it's on the way. The island people are delightful to experience.A few tips: The grocery stores have very limited supplies which can be a challenge. Only liquor stores carry alcohol and there are only a couple on the island.Brief power outages are common.Roads are in poor condition and little signage; improvements are in the works. No see-ums are everywhere so bring serious bug spray--with Deet.Kizzy's, Hidden Treasures & Da Smoke Pot are awesome eateries. (only 3 we tried)Watch for random goats in the roadway, they graze freely here.The healing pond works, if you're adventurous! Use the dock near the Greenwwood Resort.

Cathleen and Mark were the ideal hosts. They helped us with local knowledge and arranged a car rental for us. The house was charming and nicely appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beach in front was beautiful and the swimming was everything we hoped it would be.
