Take a short hike from the cabin and you'll encounter some of the most incredible waterfalls in the area.
Step inside our thoughtfully crafted 3-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath log home and you'll immediately feel a sense of warmth and tranquility. The wrap-around deck calls you to relax in the large, soothing hot tub, while the romantic stone fireplace becomes the centerpiece of intimate evenings spent in the company of loved ones. In January 2024, we went above and beyond to ensure the utmost luxury and comfort by completely renovating the master bath. It now boasts a beautiful tile shower and double vanities, providing an indulgent retreat for relaxation (updated pictures coming soon!).

There was plenty of space for everyone and ping-pong, foosball and cornhole for evenings and rainy days. The peace and quiet was wonderful and very relaxing while sitting out on the deck or in the hot tub. I’m sure there was a stunning view of the mountains at one time or once all of the leaves fall. Air conditioning is not central air, but rather one window unit for the house. Bring k-cups with you as the coffee maker is actually not a drip. Beautiful area with hiking and waterfalls nearby to enjoy.

The property has lots of positive attributes for families – – including games and entertainment for the kids. The interior is very modern and up-to-date: the kitchen is well stocked with everything needed for preparing meals and the bathrooms are in excellent condition with a modern design. The second floor bedroom has a window air-conditioning unit that is effective for much of the living area as well as the bedroom – – and a comfortable bed. The outside porch and deck needs some work. The chairs and picnic table are not in good shape so I would recommend bringing your own lawn chairs, as we did. The house is comfortably nestled among the trees, all around, and in a quiet location, but don’t expect a good view of the mountains and valley in the summer — perhaps in the winter when the leaves are off the trees.

Listing says “Stunning views” but that depends on your definition of stunning. We didn’t catch that the listing pics were clearly taken in winter when there is NO foliage on the surrounding trees. We stayed in July and had ZERO Mountain Views from anywhere in the house-a major disappointment. There is NO central A/C, just a window unit in the loft window for cooling the entire house…open areas were cool but the two main floor bedrooms were around 74-75 every night, which forced us into less than ideal sleeping arrangements in the loft…with our toddler. Two ceiling fans in main floor rooms but one has no pull chain so no way to actually turn it on. The main floor bathroom ceiling is spotted with mildew and/or mold throughout, a major health safety concern. Yes, this is a rustic mountain cabin but about the dozenth one we have rented throughout the Blue ridge mountains and by far the most underwhelming- so much so that we checked out a day early which was not what we had planned. One positive is the house smelled clean on arrival. But, if you look deeper though you’ll see it’s a surface clean and could use some “spiffing up.” We appreciated the nice and soft white clean towels in both bathrooms. The loft bathroom is redone nicely and was clean, another positive. We hope the homeowner will modify their listing and be more transparent about the views and the cooling situation, as we were sadly missing that all week, especially coming from where we live in the flat lands.
