Our group of three couples recently stayed at DD Lodge, and it was one of the best vacation rentals we've experienced.The home itself is beautiful and full of interesting history. We chose it because of its location near the trails for our side-by-sides, and it proved to be the perfect base for our trip.One of our favorite features was the enclosed porch, where we spent a lot of time relaxing and visiting together. The craftsmanship throughout the lodge is evident and adds to its beauty and charm. Every space felt thoughtfully designed with guests in mind. Having three full bathrooms gave each couple their own privacy, while the finished garage and expansive mudroom provided ample space for the gear and supplies we brought along. Unlike many rentals that feel crowded with the owner's belongings, DD Lodge offered plenty of room for us to unpack, organize our things, and truly settle in. Keeping our equipment out of the living areas made a remarkable difference, creating a comfortable, uncluttered environment that genuinely felt like a home away from home rather than a place where we were simply borrowing someone else's space.We usually travel to a different area every year to explore new trails, but DD Lodge has set a very high standard. I'm afraid future rentals will be compared to this one and probably come up short. We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend DD Lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient place to stay.

We have taken several vacations to Michigan over the years and this was our second time to the UP. This home was by far the best we've stayed at. The listing really doesn't do it justice. The home was very clean, beds were comfortable, plenty of space, the kitchen was overstocked, the furniture and decor were nice and not beat up at all like you get with some places. It is out in the middle of nowhere, but that's what we wanted. Easy enough day trips to anywhere in the UP. Pictures Rocks, Soo Locks, Keweenaw, Michigan shore, Superior shore, plenty of waterfalls and a great home to come back and relax at. Thank you for such a great vacation. Highly recommend checking this home out to anyone.

One of the nicest places we have stayed at in the over 20 years of snowmobiling in the upper peninsula. Trail access is right down the road along with fuel less than a half a mile away. The accommodations could not have been better, this is a hidden gem, will absolutely come back next season.

We really enjoyed our stay at DD Lodge. My family, ages ranging from 94 years to three years, and I booked this property for a family vacation and it was perfect!
The Lodge is amazing, very spacious and beautiful! The property is very clean and very well maintained, with all the amenities we were looking for and more. We enjoyed our morning coffee and stargazing in the four-season room, grilling, and nighttime campfires roasting s’mores with the kids.
The location of the lodge made it an easy drive to must see attractions and the Wells Township Park for a childhood/friends reunion.
Our host Nancy was very nice, responsive and promptly communicated with us, making it a smooth process before, during and after our stay. Very much appreciated the “welcome information”that was sent about DD Lodge, directions, things to do, etc.
We had a wonderful time and highly recommend DD Lodge when visiting the U.P.
