The Space:
Beautifully renovated apartment, on the first floor of the prestigious Residence Mont Blanc building, overlooking the Place du Mont Blanc in the centre of Chamonix. It has two bedrooms, and two bathrooms, sleeping 4 people very comfortably. This Chamonix apartment boasts classical high ceilings, and is light and spacious, with a large open plan living area overlooking the river and the town centre, with a modern well equipped kitchen, lounge area and dining table and chairs for 4. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and an ensuite bathroom with an Italian shower. The 2nd bedroom of the Alpine Museum apartment can be made as either 2 twins or a king bed, and has access to the 2nd bathroom with bath (shower). The Residence Mont Blanc is one of Chamonix's oldest buildings and is home to the Chamonix Alpine Museum too, right in the centre of Chamonix itself.

The Neighborhood:
Alpine Museum apartment is ideally located for the perfect Chamonix ski holiday. It is right in the centre of Chamonix, with bars and restaurants on the doorstep, within a couple of minutes walk of Les Planards ski slopes, the summer luge, and the Savoy nursery slopes. The Chamonix train station is close by too, as well as the Montenvers Train, the Aiguille du Midi cable car, and Brevent Telepherique.
Getting Around:
The Chamonix valley sits at the foot of Mont Blanc in the heart of the French Alps, displaying glaciers and breathtaking views of the snow capped mountains all around. Chamonix valley is ranked one of the top skiing and boarding resorts in the world and while Chamonix is famous for skiing in the winter, you may be surprised to hear that the summer time is just as popular - walking, hiking, rock climbing, paragliding, water rafting, mountain bike trails, even an 18 hole golf course! Not to mention major sports events such as the Mont Blanc Marathon and the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc.

We have booked through Chamonix All Year many times and this is one of the best apartments we have stayed in. It was very spacious for three people and was light and bright with wonderful views. The only thing lacking was a balcony but this wasn't a huge drawback in the wintertime.

The apartment is in a historic, residential building. Unfortunately the building is currently under a large renovation/re-construction of the museum part, and this created some minor inconvenience with parking and getting around the building. Nothing major, but a bit of a disappointment as the building is beautiful. The apartment is great, but everything is very old and in need of renovation. The front door can be better, and I really hope they label the keys as 3 key all look the same and they are for different locks. Chamonix is a magical place, so all in all, we loved our trip and the location of this apartment.

Another wonderful stay at the Alpine Museum Apartment. We have stayed here for many years. Our daughter joined us after an 8 year gap. This time with her boyfriend. This was his first time to Chamonix. Safe to say that he thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the apartment which was so similar to the apartment that they currently live in at home. How lovely is that. Though there was construction work being carried out on the ground floor, we did not let it get in the way of our trip. If you want to experience a traditional French apartment, then this is the one to book. Thank you Jo and Chamonix All Year for another amazing stay.
