About this apartment rental
At Palazzo Berardi, step into a world of Italian luxury and sophistication in the heart of Ancient Rome. Nestled in an aristocratic building dating back to the 1600s, this apartment embodies a piece of history that epitomizes the "art of living" in the 17th century.
The entire mansion spans approximately 700 square meters across four levels, starting from the courtyard of Palazzo Berardi on Via del Gesù, rising from the first floor up the staircase to the Winter Garden Level, then to the Mezzanine, and finally to the Terrace and Events Level.
The Noble Floor of the Mansion (the Winter Garden Level) houses the apartment’s bedrooms.
Palazzo Berardi features three Superior Suites, accommodating a total of seven guests.
All three Superior Suites are arranged over two levels.
• Roberta Master Suite•
70 square meters, consisting of:
– 15 square meters lounge adjacent to the winter garden
– 25 square meters master bedroom with a king-size bed
– 10 square meters master bathroom
– 15 square meters mezzanine bedroom with a queen-size bed or two single beds
• Ceiling Fresco Superior Suite•
– 25 square meters master bedroom with a king-size bed
– 8 square meters master bathroom
– 15 square meters mezzanine bedroom with two single beds
•Junior Suite•
– 25 square meters master bedroom with a king-size bed
– 6 square meters master bathroom
Arriving at Palazzo Berardi is always exciting. As you enter the historic 16th-century palace from Via del Gesù, you immediately feel the atmosphere of that era.
There is another main entrance from Piazza della Pigna.
Both entrances offer concierge service.
The inner courtyard is very characteristic and features a fountain in the center that powers an extraordinary water-driven clock. Throughout the city of Rome, there are only two water clocks—one public and this one, which is private.
In this courtyard, there is a ground-floor entrance that leads up a large staircase directly to the top of the •WINTER GARDEN LEVEL•, which features private living rooms, bedrooms, and a private kitchen.
Furthermore, upstairs we find the •TERRACE LEVEL• and the area dedicated to socializing: here you’ll find the library, the large living room, the dining room, the large kitchen, and the large terrace. This floor is also served by an elevator, which is accessed from the other entrance on Piazza della Pigna.
All the rooms in the house are decorated with period furnishings and paintings by old masters.
We are in a typical Roman aristocratic mansion.
In recent years, Palazzo Berardi has been the setting for several international film productions (Sorrentino, Spielberg, etc.) and has hosted prominent figures from the entertainment world (Jude Law, Toni Colette, Oscar Isaac, etc.)

Staying at this INCREDIBLE villa right in the center of it all WAS ROME to our family. The venue is as pictured, beautiful, historical, roomy, fun and made you feel like you live in ROME and not just visiting. You are able to easily walk to any major feature, space, restaurant, etc..Maria, the host made my family feel welcomed, cared for, and special. One of the best I've dealt with.Don't pass on this villa if it available when you journey to Rome.

This mansion is perfect in every way. Amazing location, incredibly clean and comfortable, perfect for our two families. Our host, Maria, was incredible. She helped us arrange transportation from the airport and to the port. She answered all our questions in a very timely manner. Our housekeeper, Mr. Mel, was very much appreciated. He not only kept the mansion tidy, but helped with our luggage. Very unobtrusive, but there when we needed him. The property itself is lovely, especially the massive private terrace. The only thing I would caution about is the amount of stairs. Fine if you’re 100% mobile, but would not work if anyone in your party isn’t ok with stairs.
Love this property, and would definitely stay again!

This property is incredible! Center of Rome, very central to restaurants and historic sites. It exceeded all my expectations. The blend of history and luxury in this space is remarkable, spacious rooms that truly felt grand. The terrace provided stunning views, and relaxing there after a day of exploring Rome was a highlight. The hosts are amazing! Helping us set up breakfast and accommodating all our needs.
The green room within the second kitchen was unlike anything I've seen in an VRBO an indoor sanctuary with plants!! I'd rate this stay beyond perfect. If you're seeking a one-of-a-kind experience in Rome, this is it! Overall, I can't recommend this gem enough.
