Cosy charming hotel
Super friendly and competent staff
The restaurant is very good.
The hotel is quite dated in general. However everything works. The carpet in the common area is quite worn out with many stains but properly hoovered

History, and feel.
The room was too warm and couldn’t get the air con to work. Which made sleeping an issue.

Beautiful hotel central to historic Stamford. The downstairs lounges are lovely to relax in.
The quality of breakfast was good but there was no vegetarian cooked breakfast.
We stayed at the George for my sisters 60th birthday and were very excited about it as always something we had wanted to do. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. The first room we checked into was very musty and as an asthmatic I asked to change room. The staff were accommodating and we were upgraded. Unfortunately this room too did not meet expectation. The furniture is mismatched. The bathrooms need updating as there is a shower over the bath with no pressure. The wool blanket was itchy. There are no tea and coffee making facilities.
Sadly the hotel is extremely overpriced and does not deliver.
