Disappointed
We stayed in this cozy apartment this week, and while the location and the apartment itself are nice, our overall experience was very disappointing due to the cleaning policy and how it was handled.
Check-in is after 4 pm, which is reasonable. We were asked in advance to inform the host of our arrival time so the apartment would not need to be prepared earlier than necessary. I told them we would arrive at 19:30 and was told, “Perfect.”
Checkout is at 10 am, which could also be reasonable — except that guests are expected to leave the apartment in an impeccably clean state. Tidying up, taking out the trash, emptying the dishwasher, removing coffee filters and ash from the fireplace, all of that is fine and was done. But being expected to perform a full professional-level cleaning (vacuuming, washing dishes thoroughly, cleaning the bathroom, making all beds, etc.) by 10 am is unrealistic unless you wake up in the middle of the night. We actually did most of this anyway.
Despite that, the day after we left, I was contacted and charged 1200 SEK for “insufficient cleaning.” I was sent photos showing a few bread crumbs, a few hair in the shower sink, and minor imperfections near the entrance. Seriously?
I had reasonably assumed that professional cleaning would take place between guests, as is standard for rental apartments. I would never assume that one group of guests is responsible for cleaning the apartment to a professional standard for the next group of guests. This expectation was never clearly communicated before booking, and had it been, I would not have chosen this apartment.
Looking back, things started to make sense. The apartment did not feel impeccably clean when we arrived, though after a long trip you don’t always notice right away. What was noticeable, however, was that many dishes were not properly clean.

Kokkuvõttes jäime rahule.
Meeldis küllaltki avar elutuba.
Saunas lava väga madalal (jalad põrandal jahedas) ruum ise kõrge. Kogu soe üleval lae all.
