Disappointed with maintenance and how reservation was handled.

I liked the location. It is a 5 minute ride from the Accra Airport. And there's many good restaurants within a short Uber ride or walking distance from the Essence apartments. It's also in a quiet location.

I was disappointed in the way the management handled some maintenance issues. The cook top didn't work in the apartment I was assigned to. Upon reporting it, their suggestion was to go to another apartment to cook my food, then return to our original apartment. 😳 I refused to do that. Why should I be inconvenienced on vacation due to improper maintenance? The second option was to move us to another apartment. The apartment they offered was a downgrade from the one I booked. It had a smaller bed, was smaller square footage, and not the same amenities that I paid for. They had an electrician look at it. He spent at least 2 hours trying to figure it out. All the while, our vacation is disrupted, and we can't cook breakfast. I reported this to the maintenance manager. He sent Ruth who apologized profusely. She said someone would be there the following morning to replace our cook top. In the meantime, she said no other apartments were available for us to move into.😳 Fast forward. We waited the next morning for someone to show up to replace the cook top. By 10:00 AM, no one came to resolve the problem. By then I was furious.😩 They wasted half our morning the previous day. And no one called or texted to give us an update. I called the front desk. They made that same suggestion to go to another room to cook breakfast. By then I had had enough. The only option I would take is to move to another room. 5 minutes later, Ruth showed up with the electrician with the cook top. It took him 5 minutes to install it.🤔 Why couldn't they do that yesterday? On top of that, we ran out of toilet paper. There was no extra roll of TP. Fortunately, I travel with an emergency roll of TP. The next thing that went wrong is that they missed our housekeeping schedule. I had to call the manager for that. And there were no paper towels in the kitchen. This was not the same Essence apartments that I booked last year and was satisfied with.
