Absolutely the Worst Stay – Avoid at All Costs!
The pool was the only nice thing
Terrible Experience – I’m a Genius Level 3 on Booking.com and This Was the Worst Stay Ever
We stayed at the Platinum Ocean Villa and it was honestly the biggest mistake of our entire trip. I’m a Genius Level 3 member on Booking.com, so I’ve stayed in many properties around the world — and I’ve never felt the need to leave a bad review like this until now.
At first glance, the villa looks beautifully designed, but don’t be fooled — it’s completely impractical. The entire layout is open and uncomfortable. It’s like the owner focused only on how it would look in pictures and completely ignored how guests would actually live in it.
Insects were everywhere, and worst of all, we found bedbugs in the downstairs bedroom. When we told the staff, they said they had already told the cleaning company about it — meaning they knew about the issue and still let us stay there! That is completely unacceptable and unprofessional.
To make things worse, the air conditioning didn’t work in any of the rooms, except the one with the bedbugs. We ended up having to sleep together in one room, just to avoid the heat and the bites. It was chaotic, stressful, and far from the relaxing experience we paid for.
When we first raised our concerns, the staff told us to “just try to cancel,” but Booking.com didn’t allow it, and we were forced to stay. Only then did they try to act nice and fix things, but it was too late. My friend asked me to ignore the situation and not write a review — but I won’t stay silent. No one should have to go through what we did.
I want to say the Indonesian staff were extremely kind and respectful, but the manager’s attitude was unacceptable — dismissive, cold, and unhelpful.
And one final thing — do NOT book this place until all the construction around it is complete, which could take years. It’s loud, messy, and kills any peace you’re hoping for.
Save yourself the disappointment. This place is not ready for guests.
