Very enjoyable

Proximity to Promenade

Difficult to dry towels, no through ventilation of property as only door in kitchen opened. Bathroom could have been cleaner on arrival. Ice box in fridge needed defrosting.

Disappointing and underwhelming

Close to Penzance Promenade.

Arrived at the property at 17.15 (1 hours and 15 mins past check in time which was at 16.00) to find the main door wide open, and the owner having let themselves in past check in time to put in extra pillows. Warm welcome but soon after, the nightmare of no hot water was found throughout the property. The owner’s dad Doug came shortly after couple of phone calls to owner to let them know of the absence of hot water - the person arrived minutes later, and went in and out of the flat to attempt to repair the hot water (no success) - initially the person let themselves in without knocking but apologised profusely about this. No hot water overnight for showers, for kitchen taps. We were given a bucket on our request that we had to use the kettle to fill. We were told by Doug on the check in day that he may have an available room with shower that we could have the next day once his guests had checked out. Doug even made us look at the room online and told us that this is not available tonight (check in night). Doug asked us to call at 10 am the next day to secure this and make moving arrangements. Doug gave us his number for this. Overnight, we’ve been without showers and without kitchen hot water. However when we called at 10am the next day as instructed by Doug, Doug said he will come to reattempt to repair the hot water - stating he had been in touch with the previous owners of the property. Doug arrived at around 10.45am and said that he was hoping that we could come to his other property to have showers before 3pm before his next guests can check in, despite the fact that we were clear the previous day that we had booked plans at 12pm that next day. Doug changed his statement and said that he was only allowing us to shower at the other place and not move there, as he already has guests moving there at 3pm. Doug said ‘if not, you could jump into the sea for a swim’ (if we wanted to shower or bathe in the sea, we would have gone camping).

This is a very clean apartment opposite the sea with a great shower and cooking facilities.

A very clean, comfortable apartment with new fixtures and fittings. Great situation opposite the sea with Newlyn an easy stroll away or Penzance in the other direction. The fish and chip shop is very close. A very comfortable bed and good shower. The owner was quick to reply to try and sort out the issue with the hob.

We could have had some more cutlery. We could not get the hob working as 2 pans would not work on the induction hob, however the frying pan was fine and the oven and microwave worked well. There were no instructions for the induction hob that I could find. I feel these are very small issues that are easily remedied. To get fresh air into the apartment we could only open a back door in the kitchen area as none of the windows opened.
