I chanced upon this location while searching out a drive holiday in the hills , but away from Munnar( too crowded).
I definitely liked the old world charm of this estate bungalow.
Pros : Staff are well mannered and helpful, though one of them was particularly overbearing. Chef Vel Sami was able to produce some reasonably good fare and his AppleCrumble and Blue berry Cheesecake were above par. Breakfast was adequate with South Indian dishes and bread n eggs etc.
Property is well maintained and all the furniture n fittings were appropriate.
Cons: There should be some way to communicate between the rooms and with the staff who are at the pantry/kitchen areas of the bungalow. Right now you will need to shout out for them or go to fetch them.
I thought the charges of Rs 750 for the so called trek were unnecessary. We could very well have taken a stroll along the estate roads for free. Think about it.
Overall the property did meet our expectations and we would certainly let others know and maybe come back again in the future.

We traveled around southern india for 2 weeks, and this place was absolutely fabulous! The landscape and the area were incredibly beautiful, just breathtaking! Valparai is so much more unspoiled and magical than Ooty
We had an amazing colorful walk in the morning looking at birds, animal traces and the little local temple nested in the the tea fields. Do not miss the drive to the stream, a magical place - and we were lucky to see a wild elephant strolling in the fields on our way. We unfortunately did not arrive in time for an evening walk to see leopards etc - so wish we had had more time at Sinna Dorai! Next time we will both arrive much earlier in the day, and stay for an extra day. Finally, the kindness of the staff made our stay very special - we had some logistics problems and they were so helpful in calling around and helping to get everything fixed. A warm recommendation from us - we would love to return in the future!
