As someone that uses self catering apartments regularly, I can honestly say that The Distillery Room is up there amongst the best that I have stayed in. Meg (the host) is warm, friendly and extremely helpful and the instructions to access the property are clear and very simple. The apartment is immaculately clean and tidy and very tastefully decorated. The kitchenette has everything required for your stay and a good supply of tea, coffee and sugar - also there is a supply of condiments and sauces which are very useful. The ironing facilities are extremely handy and the full length mirror is a great touch and something that is missing in many other properties that I have used. The bathroom is very spacious and well ventilated and there is a massive supply of toilet tissue. Also, the large shower cubicle is perfect even for those with a 'fuller figure'. There are plenty of electric sockets dotted around the apartment which is very useful and something that is lacking in many properties. The location of The Distillery Room is ideal and just a short distance from the rail and coach station. The apartment is on a small side street very close to the main shopping areas meaning that it is fairly quiet with very little passing traffic. There are loads of shops, bars, restaurants and take away outlets in very close proximity - if you get the opportunity, it's well worth checking out the German Kebabs. Although the apartment is on the first floor, the staircase and landing are very wide and spacious meaning that carrying luggage up the stairs isn't a problem. If I return to Scarborough in the future, I would definitely stay at The Distillery Room again and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the property to friends and family.
